Canadian Forum for Business and Human Rights

The Canadian Forum for Business and Human Rights is an initiative of the Desautels Business Law Accelerator. Here, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners explore how corporate activity affects human rights. For example, they examine corporate social responsibility, supply chain ethics, and legal frameworks that uphold human rights standards in business.

Prairie Business Law Collaboration

The Prairie Business Law Collaboration is a cross-university initiative supported by the Desautels Business Law Accelerator. It focuses on strengthening rural communities across the Canadian prairies by developing and supporting legal expertise in business law. In practice, the PBLC will develop an interdisciplinary Prairie Business Law Clinic, an online PBLC Resource Centre, an annual PBLC Conference, a mentorship program, and a 3-credit course. This course will be collaboratively developed and delivered by the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law, the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, the University of Saskatchewan Faculty of Law, and MacEwan University School of Business.

The Manitoba Lab for AI, Law & Ethics

The Manitoba Lab for AI Law and Ethics (MLA) is an interdisciplinary research hub at the Faculty of Law. The Lab advances research and policy engagement on the legal, ethical, and governance challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI).

Canadian Academy of Legal Studies in Business

The Canadian Academy of Legal Studies in Business (CALSB) is a not-for-profit organization. It promotes scholarship and excellent business law teaching across Canadian universities. Each year, CALSB hosts a conference supported by the Desautels Business Law Accelerator.

The Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship

The Desautels Business Law Accelerator works with the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship in the Asper School of Business. While the Accelerator trains lawyers in business law, the Stu Clark Centre inspires future entrepreneurs to turn ideas into successful businesses.
