2024 Summer Research Assistants

Janell Jackson

Janell is the Social Media Content Creator for Desautels Centre as she advances into 2L. “My role is to share incoming information with the social media platforms X (Twitter), and LinkedIn. We are hoping to expand to a new platform in the coming months. It is my pleasure to accept this role, in hopes that I am able to continue the good work of the former Social Media Manager for The Marcel A. Desautels Centre. I am so excited to be a part of Robson Hall, and all the great working opportunities available to students.”

Kelci Miller

Kelci has conducted key interviews for the Faculty of Law Annual Research Report, but is primarily researching ‘corporate responsibility for accessibility’ as part of our Business and Human Rights series. She is a 3L with a keen interest in human rights. “My role is primarily to assist in researching and developing a Business and Human Rights resource about implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and to prepare for the Business and Human Rights conference in Winnipeg in November 2025.”

Moira Kennedy

Moira’s role as Desautels Indigenous Business Development Summer Research Assistant is to research on creating resources for Indigenous Entrepreneurs, and Indigenous Artists to be posted on the clinics’ respective websites. She is a case manager and a 3L Student-at-Law housed in the L. Kerry Vickar Business Law Clinic and Manitoba Legal Clinic for the Arts.

Gilad Stitz

Gilad is researching and writing a comprehensive report on Franchising as part of the State of Business Law in the Manitoba series. He has just completed 1L. “I got some interesting things to add to labour issues. I will highlight some instances of communities starting franchises and the benefits received from investment.”
